Our
venue, the Sisters of St John of God Retreat Centre in Shoalwater (Rockingham),
is set on five acres of landscaped gardens opposite the ocean. I have had some great feedback from friends
who have stayed here – they tell me the food is fantastic and the beds are very
comfortable. Just one road back from
the beach with the Seaview apartments looking over a park to the beach. It’s a beautiful beach for swimming –
sheltered by Penguin and Seal Islands, so bring your water-wings if you fancy a
dip (not compulsory).
I’m
still preparing the weekend, but you can be sure we will have a special AZZA
PROJECT, prizes, lots of scrapping and generally have a good time with friends
new and old.
One table & chair per person,
with access to outside for some fresh air.
Fully air conditioned with a kitchenette with open tea & coffee
facilities.
Breakout Room
The Seaview Apartment will have an ‘Azza shop’ and space for relaxing and socialising.
It has a lounge, dining and kitchen area and a small terrace/garden to
enjoy the sunset.
Food
Lunch is the main meal of the day,
and like Breakfast and Dinner is buffet style.
This enables you to choose the options and amount that fit with your
preferences and dietary requirements – some limited diet options will be
specially catered for, but hopefully most people’s needs are covered by the
buffet.
Morning and afternoon tea are provided,
along with hot drink facilities next to the craft room and in Seaview
Apartment. You are welcome to bring your
own alcohol.
The Retreat
Centre
There is a chapel for quiet
contemplation and the gardens have a Labyrinth, Poustinia, Grotto, Stations of
the Cross and several areas to just sit and relax. Please note it is a non-smoking venue, and it
does have Wi-Fi access.
Accommodation
Most rooms are single en-suite
rooms, all have full linen provided and are air-conditioned. We have 10 rooms above the craft room (Ferns
House) and four rooms in a separate building (Seaview Apartment). Three of these are twin rooms, one of which
is on the ground floor (no stairs, but further to walk). If you would prefer / be prepared to share
please indicate on your booking form.
There will be a slight reduction in the charge for a shared room ($5 per

partner who would like to come but not scrap please ask me about the options
for them.
